What Is Self-Projected Authority?
Self-Projected Authority is found only in Projectors. Those with it have a defined G Center (Identity Center) but no other defined motor center below it. Their authority comes from speaking — literally talking out loud about the decision with trusted people who are there simply to listen, not advise. The act of speaking activates the G Center's connection to identity and direction, and the Self-Projected Projector will hear their truth in their own voice as they speak.
How it feels: The truth reveals itself as you speak — often surprising yourself with what you say
📋 How to Use Self-Projected Authority — Step by Step
- Find a trusted person (or several) who can listen without advising. Explain: 'I need to think out loud. Please just listen.'
- Speak freely about the decision — explore all sides, all feelings, all possibilities.
- Listen to what you actually say, not what you planned to say. The truth often surprises you.
- Notice what feels true versus what feels performed or forced when spoken aloud.
- You may need multiple conversations over time — this is not a snap-decision authority.
- Avoid making decisions in isolation. You need the sounding board even if you do not need the advice.
⚠️ Common Mistakes
- Making decisions in silence, in your head, without speaking
- Asking advisors for their opinion instead of just using them as a sounding board
- Rushing to a conclusion before you have fully spoken through it
- Letting others' reactions to what you say override what felt true when you said it
- Using social media or group settings as your sounding board — you need intimate, trusted listeners
