What is Gate 2 in Human Design?

Gate 2 is one of the most mysterious gates in Human Design. Sitting in the G Center, it is sometimes called the 'Keeper of the Keys' — it holds the higher knowing of direction without necessarily being able to articulate how it knows. Gate 2 is receptive by nature; it does not push toward a destination but rather allows the correct direction to be revealed. In practical terms, this means people with Gate 2 defined often know intuitively where to go without knowing why.

The I Ching names this the Receptive — pure yin force, the earth receiving heaven. Gate 2 in Human Design is about allowing higher guidance to come through. It pairs with Gate 14 in the Sacral to form the channel known as 'Beat' or 'The Keeper of Keys' — a channel that holds the life force in service of the unique direction the individual is being called toward.
